Leifturs Whippet

While living in Norway I aqcuired my first whippet, a little bitch puppy from the Siprex kennel. It only took the drive home to make us fall in love with this wonderful and beautiful puppy and realise she was something special. The day after, we were completely lost forever in her and the breed.

When we moved back to Iceland, Siprex Klara or "Skutla" became Iceland´s first whippet.
Skutla easily got her champion title and continued to charm her way into people´s hearts until the day she passed away, to our grief, all too soon. Since then we have imported 3 more whippets, 3 from Siprex and 1 from Courtborne .

Our dogs enjoy great freedom but we own about 100 acres of land for us,the dogs and our horses. They love to run around playing or just trotting by our side in all weathers and seasons. They are happy, tough and healthy and I take great pride in always getting comments about theire wonderful condition by the judges at the dogshows.

I hope you enjoy your visit where you hopefully can follow how this wonderful breed, slowly but with the sighthound´s grace and dignity, settles on our beautiful island in the north.
